Breast Lift / Mastopexy

The changes a woman experiences after childbirth, weight loss, with age, or simply the result of heredity can change the appearance, size, shape or position of your breasts. A breast lift will help to reposition your breasts, restoring shape and firmness for a more youthful, natural appearance. Your personal consultation will help determine whether a breast lift alone, or the added option of a breast implant will achieve the natural, youthful lifted curves you desire.

Breast Reduction/Reduction Mammoplasty

Large, pendulous, heavy breasts can be reduced to create a more proportionate, attractive appearance and better proportion for your body. As a result, your breasts are more shapely, firm, natural looking and uniquely designed to fit your body proportions and lifestyle. In many cases reducing breast size offers relief of back or neck pain, improves poor posture and your activity. A customized plan will determine the reduction volume to meet your goals, and whether limited incision options are right for you.

Strattice Revisional Breast Surgery

The loss of natural breast tissue or a lack of natural breast tissue to adequately cover a breast implant may result in breast surgery results that don't meet your expectations. Strattice™ and Alloderm® are a revolutionary new tissue matrices that can help support and enhance undesirable outcomes, such as implant malposition and capsular contracture, and enhance your breast surgery to achieve a very natural appearance. Strattice™ has the ability to achieve adequate coverage over your breast implants and decrease visible implant wrinkling or rippling. Strattice™ supports your breast tissue around the implant and can assist in improving the appearance of implants that are out of position, such as those that may have been previously placed too far to the side and create a lack of cleavage.

Breast Reconstruction/Restoration Mammaplasty

Breasts that are lost or disfigured after surgery to treat cancer, disease, or as the result of genetic anomalies, can be restored to a more natural appearance. Highly specialized techniques that use your own tissue, tissue expansion, a breast implant or a combination of techniques may be used to help a woman to feel whole again. Breast reconstruction is a process, not a single procedure that begins by defining a plan that is individualized to your specific goals and your body.

3-D Breast Imaging & Simulation by Canfield Vectra 3D

Breast surgery is highly individualized. In order to better illustrate potential outcomes that may be achieved, the Bengtson Center for Aesthetics and Plastic surgery is the first in the Midwest to offer highly advanced 3-D breast imaging and simulation. Although there is no method or simulation that will allow you to experience precisely what your breasts will look like postoperatively, Vectra Breast Imaging gives you a visual image for the range of outcomes that may be achieved for your body, provides more realistic expectations for the appearance of your breasts and your body as the result of surgery, and helps visually with the implant selection process.

Ultrasound Imaging of Breast Implants

Breast implants are not lifetime devices. Currently, the FDA recommends MRI imaging of newly placed silicone breast implants 3 to 5 years and 7 years after placement. We have initiated a new research study protocol to determine if new Hi Resolution Ultrasound is an effective method and alternative to MRI to monitor the function and condition of your breast implants. Please contact Dr. Bengtson to determine if you would be a good candidate to be enrolled in our ongoing IRB study protocol.
