Soften Lines Around the Nose and Mouth with a New Juvederm® Injectable in Grand Rapids, MI
For an effective wrinkle-smoothing product that's soft, safe, and long lasting, look no further than Vollure™ at our Grand Rapids practice. While this product from the Juvederm® family may be new to patients in the United States, the formulation has been used since 2013 in Europe (approved and sold under the name Volift®) and has had equally successful results in more than 80 countries! The Bengtson Center is the first office in West Michigan to offer this smooth filler for adding subtle volume to the mouth area.
The product may be new to many patients, but our injectors have extensive experience with fillers in the Juvederm® family and have been trained to get the best results possible with Vollure™ specifically.
Why Consider the Bengtson Center for Vollure™ in Michigan?
The Bengtson Center's team of expert injectors has been specifically trained to understand how Juvederm® products should look, feel, and function. This gives them the ability to assess what each patient needs, and how best to administer these products into the skin for maximized results. Each of our Aesthetic Experts would be happy to meet you personally to discuss your concerns and goals, and to evaluate your unique features to make sure you receive the best possible course of treatment.
What is Vollure™, and What Can It Do?
Each soft tissue filler in the Juvederm® family is area-specific. In March 2017, the FDA officially approved Vollure™ in the United States to treat moderate to severe facial lines and wrinkles (such as parentheses, corner, and marionette lines). It is one of the longest lasting dermal or soft tissue fillers of its kind on the market: Clinical trials demonstrate that the effects of this injectable treatment can last up to 18 months! As is the case with other Juvederm® products, Vollure™ is formulated with maker Allergan's proprietary VYCROSS® technology. VYCROSS® works to create a specific blend of hyaluronic acid with varying molecular weights. This gives Vollure™ its soft, smooth, and firm-yet-pliable consistency, and also contributes to how long the effects of the filler can last.
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the skin. It absorbs and retains water to keep skin looking and feeling its best, but over time and with exposure to adverse environmental factors, the body's production of hyaluronic acid slows down, leaving the skin vulnerable to folding and wrinkling.
When injected with skill and care into strategically selected areas, Vollure™ can restore lost volume to the skin and smooth out nasolabial lines. The result is a firmer, fresher, and more youthful-looking face.
What is the Vollure™ Treatment Experience Like?
After establishing during a consultation that Vollure™ is the best course of treatment for your concerns, one of our injectors will outline more details for you. A treatment session will last between 15 to 60 minutes, depending on the individual requirements for the areas to be treated.
Juvederm® products with an "XC" label contain lidocaine, a pain-reducing agent that helps manage discomfort related to the injection. You may also request a topical numbing cream or ice to make you more comfortable during the session.
While you may notice results right away, some minor and temporary injection-related effects such as swelling and bruising may occur, but resolve on their own within a month. Since hyaluronic acid is naturally produced in the body, adverse reactions are rare, and Vollure™ is safe for touch-ups or maintenance injections.
Options Beyond Vollure™
Depending on the type and nature of the facial wrinkles you want to address, we may recommend another dermal filler such as Juvederm® XC. Voluma® can provide a volume boost in cheeks to restore their lift and contour, and correct mid-face volume loss. To correct vertical lip lines and provide lips with a subtle volume boost, we may recommend Volbella®. With our recommendation in hand, it's up to you.
