PLASTIC SURGERY INNOVATIONS TAKING PLACE ON GRAND RAPIDS MEDICAL MILE
Bengtson Center for Aesthetics and Plastic Surgery relocates to Medical Mile with technology and advanced research that can’t be found anywhere else in West Michigan.
Monday, June 28, 2010 ─ Bengtson Center for Aesthetics and Plastic Surgery expands the capabilities found on the Grand Rapids Medical Mile by relocating its headquarters to the Women’s Health Center of West Michigan. The move equipped Bengtson Center to provide a more-intimate, welcoming environment for its patients while still maintaining a variety of services, advanced research initiatives, and cutting-edge technology found no where else in West Michigan.
Dr. Bradley Bengtson owns the Center and brought to West Michigan two machines that are unique to the community. The Vectra® 3D Imaging System provides preview pictures that portray a simulation of how patients might look after plastic surgery or skin care treatments. Basically, gone are the days of viewing photo books, now you can see your after results before surgery even begins. These images enable patients to set realistic expectations for post surgery results. The second featured technology is LifeSculpt™ powered by SlimLipo™, which is the latest and most advanced FDA-approved laser liposuction. It’s a laser-assisted lipolysis machine with a laser that selectively dissolves fat, unlike standard liposuction which can destroy tissue. SlimLipo allows Dr. Bengtson to have his patients back to work within two to three days with less bruising, smaller scars and tighter skin.
The Women’s Health Center houses various women-focused medical offerings with the newest being the Bengtson Center for Aesthetics and Plastic Surgery. “It’s not your typical doctor’s office . . . that’s for sure! Patients still always come first at Bengtson Center, but with our new location we can now offer a space where patients can feel welcomed and comfortable ─ almost like being in someone’s home,” describes Dr. Bengtson. “We focus on providing the safest and best outcome possible with advanced surgical and nonsurgical techniques and technology, all within a cozy environment.”
Bengtson Center moved from the Grand Valley Surgical Center near Leffingwell and Leonard to 7,000 square feet in the Women’s Health Center at 555 Midtowne Street NE. The new practice portrays a comfortable environment with a fireplace and reading nook to make patients feel at home. Guests are greeted by a concierge, offered a pre- and post-surgical entrance to ensure privacy, have access to a skin-care bar, and can take advantage of upcoming online appointment scheduling.
Besides its cozy feel and array of offerings, the Center is used by Dr. Bengtson for numerous research projects of the face, breast and body to help bring new, innovative products to the market. Dr. Bengtson also dedicates half of his practice to breast-related surgeries, including reconstruction for breast cancer patients, and is the only surgeon in West Michigan to use Strattice™ Reconstructive Tissue Matrix for revisional breast augmentation surgery.
