After Dr. Alfonso processes the collected fat, he injects the refined fat into strategic areas in the buttocks to provide the effect of a butt lift.

Buttock augmentation yields immediately visible results, though the surgery also requires down time for healing and aftercare. Patients typically wear a support garment for a set time after their surgery and are encouraged to avoid prolonged sitting for two weeks.
Fat transfer takes some time to resolve, as a patient's own fat sets into place over the course of a year. Some of the fat used in a Brazilian butt lift will be reabsorbed by the body, leading to a slight decrease in projection from the initial results, but the augmentation is long lasting and will remain as long as the patient’s weight stays stable.
